ACGEA Certification Statistics for 2015

A total of 28,394 breeding heifers and bulls were certified by ILRIC in 2015 which is down by 4% on the 29,421 cattle certified in 2014.

Breaking down the 2015 certifications further the statistics show:

  • As with previous years, the majority (86%) of cattle certified were category 2 heifers. A total of 5,480 (14%) Category 1 heifers and 152 (1%) Category 1 bulls were certified in 2015.

  • The export destinations for certified breeding cattle were China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. The main market in 2015 was China which took 95% of the certified cattle with Kazakhstan taking 4% and Russia taking 1%.

  • The breeds involved included Angus (94%), Simmental (3%), Red Angus (2%), Limousin (1%), Charolais (1%) and for the first time Fleckvieh (0.5%).
